World War I

World War I, likewise called First World War or Great War, a universal clash that in 1914– 18 entangled the greater part of the countries of Europe alongside Russia, the United States, the Middle East, and different locales. The war set the Central Powers—principally Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey—against the Allies—for the most part France, Great Britain, Russia, Italy, Japan, and, from 1917, the United States. It finished with the thrashing of the Central Powers. The war was for all intents and purposes exceptional in the butcher, bloodletting, and devastation it caused.
