MP3 Player Innovative Concept

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Much like his Fluid Smartphone, Brazilian designer Dinard da Mata has developed another wearable gadget that becomes a fashion accessory to complement the style of next-gen users. Hailed as “MP3 Player Creative,” the portable music player features a flexible OLED screen that other than displaying the playlist also lets the user select the song or control volume with just a touch of a finger. Worn around the wrist like a bracelet, the MP3 concept gives easy access of the functions to the user. In addition, the sleek music player includes wireless headphones to offer clutter-free music on the go.

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

In the years to come, technology will take us to a level that become difficult to predict or think about at present. Nevertheless, there are designers who every now and then come up with a vehicle that seems fit enough in the future scenario. Here is a vision from Brazilian designer, Thiago Vieira, who has envisioned a vehicle for 2050.

Biometric fingerprint scanner – Ekey

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Increased security breaches, be they in the workplace or at home, are a matter of concern among working professionals as well as residents, which forces them to keep each and everything under lock, turning their pocket into a messy key holder. Providing a solution, Italian designer Chiara Ripalti  has come up with an innovative device named the “Ekey” that lets you access various places, such as the office, home or library, safely with just one small gadget. Easy to use, the device equips a fingerprint scanner to identify the fingerprint of the user before allowing entry to multiple private environments. Wrapped in a customized cover, the Ekey also includes a LED light that glows to mark a legal entry.

Next generation computer!

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

If you think the computer you see right in front of you will always be the same. In terms of technology, and yes, Shape then guys, think again! You’ve got a valid reason to do so for designer Sophia Yung has come up with the inventive futuristic computer design named Lotus. It’s named so because it’s shaped like lotus.

Imitating the lotus plant, the cool new computer system is endowed with amazing technology. Integration with one of the five human senses viz. olfaction is what I find the coolest trait of Lotus besides its design. Also, there’s a smell spray, artificial intelligence, and video and keypad projector that will help develop progressive visual and interactive relationship between the user and the computer. Besides all this, Lotus will add to your home decor with its looks and smart design. Do I need to spend more words? I’m actually spell bound!

Automotive design. First Photos of Renault DeZir concept future car.

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Renault is breaking away from the angular styling favored by its former design chief, Patrick Le Quement. The French company will show a concept car that highlight’s the brand’s more emotional design at the Paris auto show in October.

The DeZir project is the first to have been led by Renault’s new design boss, Laurens van den Acker – formerly with Mazda – and marks the start of a sequence of concept cars that will provide an insight into Renault Design’s new vision for the future, laying the foundation for the styling cues of Renault’s forthcoming vehicles.

“DeZir is a statement of our new formal design language which conveys notions such as movement, sensuality and emotion through ideal proportions, in much the same way as an object whose forms have been honed by nature. The result is a warm, stimulating design that says ‘Renault’,” explains Axel Breun, Renault’s director of concept car and show car design.

The car will power by electric motor, which is rated at 150 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque, drives the rear wheels, and is mounted behind the cabin in a mid/rear position (a break from tradition, as Alpines almost always hung the engine/transaxle at the aft end of the car). A 24-kWh lithium-ion battery is vertically mounted behind the seat, and can power the car for up to 100 miles — unless you drive it fast. Renault says the DeZir can zip from 0 to 62 mph in five seconds flat, and ultimately reach a top-end of 112 mph.

The French automaker says the fluid shape of the DeZir “lays the foundations for the styling cues of Renault’s forthcoming vehicles” and that the vehicle’s debut “marks the start of a sequence of concept cars that will provide an insight into Renault Design’s new vision for the future.”

The company said its new design language draws inspiration from three keywords: simple, sensuous and warm. It didn’t fully explain the DeZir name (apparently it’s supposed to be pronounced like “desire,” which is, in fact, “desir” in French), other than to say the Z refers to Renault’s Z.E. nomenclature for its zero-emissions vehicles.
